LESAGE, WV - Faith Motorsports will debut a bi-monthly radio show on January 4, enabling Morgan Shepherd fans to enjoy regular updates on the team's progression through the 2007 race season.
Faith Motorsports Radio will produce a bi-monthly 15-minute show, "Racing With Jesus," to be hosted by veteran sportswriter Tim Stephens, the team announced December 21.
Dana Tomes, co-owner of the team, said the show's production crew will begin taping pre-recorded segments of the series on December 22. The show's first edition will air at 7 p.m. Eastern on January 4.
"Racing With Jesus" will be made available to Christian and secular radio stations nationwide and also will be streamed through the Faith Motorsports website so fans around the world can listen to the show live.
"We are very excited to be able to provide one more way that fans can get a regular update on Morgan Shepherd and the Faith Motorsports team," Tomes said. "We will have interviews with Morgan each week, and will update fans on that week's race and the upcoming week's race."
In addition, Tomes said the show will also feature regular periodic segments about the Morgan Shepherd Charitable Fund, Victory In Jesus Racing Ministries and interviews with team members and fans.
Fans who do not have a radio station in their area which carries the show can log on to www.racewithfaith.com or www.morganshepherd.com to listen. Once on the team's home page, fans can click on the "Listen Live" icon to hear the show. The team's website will be upgraded to include the radio show icon prior to the January 4 broadcast.
Tomes said the website will also archive all shows on its Media Archive pages so fans who can't listen live every other week can log on to hear the most recent show at their convenience.
"Racing With Jesus" will be aired every other Thursday evening beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern.
"There are a lot of NASCAR racing shows out there, but this one will focus on racing from a Christian point of view and follow the Faith Motorsports team as it travels the Nextel Cup circuit."
The show is being sponsored in part by Gulf Coast Filters.
