TALLADEGA, AL - Morgan Shepherd has quite a track record over the past few years at Talladega Superspeedway, according to NASCAR statistics.
Statistics compiled by NASCAR for the Aaron’s 312 Nationwide Series race for the past four years rank Shepherd first on a list of 40 drivers for percentage of fastest laps ran at the track.
Based on the past four years at the track, Shepherd has ran the fastest lap at the track 15 times which totals 5.8% of the fastest laps ran during the four-race stretch. He has an average finish of 26th over the past four races, with a best finish of 13th in 2008.
Shepherd also ranks first for fastest speeds on restart laps where he was fastest on the first lap after a restart four times or about 1.1 percent of the laps ran. His average restart lap speed was 175.992 miles per hour.
