DARLINGTON, S.C. - Ageless NASCAR racing veteran Morgan Shepherd will attempt to make his 250th start in the Nationwide Series this weekend in the Diamond Hill Plywood 200 at Darlington Raceway.
Shepherd, who has a combined 811 starts in NASCAR’s three upper race divisions, has recorded 15 wins in the Nationwide Series, as well as 44 Top 5 finishes and 67 Top 10 runs.
Shepherd, who is running the full Nationwide Series schedule in 2009, has two Top 20 finishes in nine races so far this season, a 19th place finish at California and a 13th place run at Las Vegas.
Shepherd, who last drove in the Sprint Cup Series in 2006, has recorded four wins in that series in 511 starts. He has logged 55 starts in the Camping World Truck Series as well.
At age 67, Shepherd is the oldest full time competitor in NASCAR and is the second oldest driver to ever have won a Sprint Cup Series race.
In 21 starts at Darlington in the Nationwide Series, Shepherd has three Top 5’s and six Top 10’s at the historic track.
