FONTANA, CA - Morgan Shepherd and his Faith Motorsports crew turned in a solid performance from start to finish Saturday night, resulting in a 19th place showing in the season's second contest of the season."

"We didn't run as well as we had hoped we would," Shepherd said. "We battled a tight car all night, but we came home with the fenders on it and we have something to build on."

Considering the challenges in getting on the track, Shepherd said he was pleased with the overall result.

"We drove all week to get here so we left the shop Monday and didn't have a lot of time in the shop after Daytona," he said. "We have a short trip to Vegas this week so we will be able to work on some of the little things we found this week."

Shepherd said the team faced some body template issues in technical inspection which resulted in the team missing the first practice on Friday. And with just five laps under their belt, Shepherd qualified the car in the 27th position for Saturday afternoon's race.

"We found some things that we can hopefully make better this week for Vegas," he said. "We are happy with the progress we are making each week."

Shepherd said while it will take a few more weeks to offset the disappointing points day the team had at Daytona in the season-opener, he is confident the team will be solidly in the Top 30 in points by the start of the sixth race.
