CONOVER, NC - Faith Motorsports has plans to enter Morgan Shepherd and his #89 Dodge Charger in all 35 Nationwide Series events in 2008, the team announced February 6.
For the first time since its formation in August 2006, Faith Motorsports now has a stable of cars capable of running each of the tracks on the Nationwide Series.
"We are still actively seeking sponsorship for all 35 races, but we are planning at this time to make a run at a full season," Shepherd said Wednesday as the team was making final preparations on its Camping World 300 entry for next weekend at Daytona International Speedway.
Shepherd said the team will enter Daytona using a car that was purchased from Team Rensi over the winter. It ran last year's Daytona spring race as the #25 Ford, finishing 20th.
"Heavenly Bodies has a brand new body on the car and we have done a lot of work getting the car up to where it should be a great car," Shepherd said. "We will have an Ernie Elliott restrictor plate engine and should be ready to go to Daytona by Monday."
The team also has primary and backup short and intermediate track cars, a dedicated road-course car as well as a show car already built and ready to go, he said.
The #89 will continue this year with Shepherd's traditional candied apple green paint scheme and the familiar Racing With Jesus hood emblem, Shepherd said.
